Lady
MEDIUM: Original Production Drawing
IMAGE SIZE: 15.5" x 12.25"
PRODUCTION: Lady and the Tramp, 1955
SKU: CCV5933
ABOUT THE IMAGE: Trotting towards screen left with a refined rendering of her face in profile view is the eponymous Lady in this amazing production rough. In traditional animation, these first drawings are called "rough animation" or "roughs" for short since they're often done in a very loose style. This step serves as a testing ground to lock in timing for movement, establish position, style, and nail the composition of the camera.
Rendered in graphite and blue color pencil, the drawing is numbered "L129" on the bottom right corner. The notation "new" along with a timing chart is also written on the right edge of the page.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Drawings are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-drawn by a studio artist.
