ABOUT THE FILM: Pluto’s Kid Brother stretches brotherly love to the limit in this hilarious short, in which Pluto’s rambunctious, perpetually panting, leash-evading sibling gets into all manner of difficulties despite Pluto’s best custodial efforts. When Pluto discovers that Butch the Bulldog has inveigled K.B. to sneak into a meat market and purloin some sausages, he arrives to right the situation just as the burglar alarm begins bleating. The brothers manage to evade a menacing dogcatcher, but Butch meets a less happy fate. The film was released on April 12th, 1946 and was directed by Charles Nichols.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Photostat Model Sheets are reference guides used by animators to ensure consistency in character design, proportions, and expressions throughout a film. These printed sheets typically feature multiple poses, facial expressions, and turnarounds of a character, often photocopied from finalized drawings by lead animators. Model sheets help maintain uniformity in animation by providing a standard reference for all artists working on a character, preventing visual discrepancies between different scenes.
