Doctor Fate

Doctor Fate is a superhero from DC Comics who uses magic. The original version was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Howard Sherman, debuting in More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940).

Doctor Fate is a powerful sorcerer and an agent of the Lords of Order who fights against chaos. He wears a mystical helmet, amulet, and cloak that are creations of an ancient being named Nabu. There have been many individuals who have worn the helmet of Nabu and become Doctor Fate, but the first and most famous one was Kent Nelson. He was a young archaeologist who discovered Nabu’s tomb and was trained by him in magic. He became a founding member of the Justice Society of America and fought many enemies such as Wotan, Mordru, and Nekron.
