Disney Original Production Cels

A Disney original production cel is a hand-painted animation celluloid used in the actual creation of a Disney film or television scene. Each cel represents a single frame of animation, painted on the back of a clear sheet and photographed over a background to bring characters to life. Because they were used directly in production—and most were discarded—surviving cels are rare, highly collectible pieces of Disney history.
